#KidReads Live! | Events | 89.3 KPCC

By |July 22nd, 2013|

Saturday was wonderful. I got kids to read in Spanish to me, read stories from Africa and discovered a new story based in India. We made some puppets and talked about how literacy encompasses more than reading a book. We played lots of games too…you can watch it here. http://www.scpr.org/events/2013/07/20/kidreads-live/

Classic books

By |June 21st, 2013|

We’ve been travelling… Hence the lack of updates… We’ve been visiting grandparents in distant lands. One of my highlights has been re discovering a few classic English kids books, some of which I grew up with, like the Mr. Men series, and others I’m not so familiar with, like the Peter rabbit series. Why I Do What I Do.

By |May 18th, 2013|

I wrote this piece all the way back in May. I didn’t publish it straight away because I wanted to edit it. But you know, sometimes you’ve just got to let it go. This is just one reason as to why I’m so passionate about encouraging the love of reading, and why we consciously focus […]

Anyway, you coming in the 25th?! Looking forward to seeing you! Don’t forget […]

These Little People have left me in Awe…

By |April 28th, 2013|

We had our first storytime today, and it was a blast! Everyone loved the books (the kids were a huge fan of our stickers)… It looks like we’ll be back at Message Media Ed in South Los Angeles next month too! Huzzah! Both books were a hit, but I think ‘Big Box for Ben’ got […]
